GASTRIC BYPASS

The surgery for obesity with gastric bypass restricts the upper stomach and divides the small intestine in two sections:

The first section connects the stomach directly to the large intestine, prevents that the food be dissolved by digestive substances and absorbed by the body. The second section continues receiving the digestive substances allowing these substances come into contact with food only at the end of the first section.

The food is less digested and absorbed. As the stomach is reduced, promotes a feeling of satiety after small meals.
