GASTRIC BALLOON

The gastric balloon is a spherical and smooth bag of silicone that after placed inside the stomach is filled with 500 to 800 ml of liquid. The gastric balloon is placed endoscopically an outpatient basis and patients go home the same day. The gastric balloon stays in the stomach for 6 months and then is removed in the same way it was introduced in the stomach.
